Led-Zip Lighting was founded in 2008, driven by a practical interest in how light affects the spaces we use every day. What started as a curiosity about new lighting technologies gradually became a hands-on approach to combining solid engineering with thoughtful design.

Earlier experience working on dashboard lighting for performance vehicles and control panels in aircraft sparked a creative interest in using lighting not just for function, but to elevate design and shape how a space feels. Those demanding environments highlighted how lighting affects focus, clarity, and comfort.

This became the foundation for thinking beyond just brightness and efficiency, encouraging a focus on how lighting shapes the overall feel of a space. The emphasis shifted from primarily technical output to a balance between function and impact – how light can enhance detail, support a room’s purpose, and create atmosphere.

Experimenting with high-powered LEDs early on opened up new opportunities, and what began as small-scale trials turned into a wide range of projects across public buildings, historic sites, and modern architecture.
